Eid al-Adha/Date (2024)
Eid al Adha is one of two public holidays and quite literally translates to the “festival of sacrifice” (of either a goat, sheep or lamb). The festival takes place during Hajj season (Muslim pilgrimage to Makkah) and is one of the most important holidays on the Islamic calendar. It follows Eid al Fitr, the festival of breaking of the fast, which marks the end of Ramadan.
